Prof. Dr. Babu Kochamkunnel

(M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., PhD) Principal

Prof. Dr. Babu Kochamkunnel is the former Chairman of Board of Studies, Education & Faculty Member in Kannur University and developed Syllabus and Curriculum of B Ed & MEd in 2006 and 2014. He had attended 62 Educational Seminars / Courses and presented papers/ Resource Person on different topics at 30 National and 11 International level Seminars. He also published 12 papers. He is a recognized Ph.D. Guide (Education) and Chairman Doctoral committee in Kannur University and adjudicated Doctoral theses of different universities. He is also General Convener of 5 UGC Sponsored National Seminars, Palliative Centre experience, Pre-marriage/Home Management Course, Campus Radio, Edu Fest, University Exams etc.

According to Sri. V. J. George Kulangara the founder of this institution, Education is the birth-right of every child who is born with immence potentialities. It is with this vision and for this mission that he has established Labor India Schools of the ancient Indian Gurukulam system, amalgamated with modern educational techniques

History

What evolved from a dream to create a Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College back in the year 2004, has emerged to be one of the premier educational institutions in India on par international standards. 

Labour India Public School & Junior College was founded by Mr. V. J. George Kulangara on 4th June 1993 in Marangattupilly, Kottayam Dt, Kerala, South India. His Guru (Teacher), the late Prof. K. M. Chandy, former Governor of Madhya Pradesh, India, inaugurated the school. ( www.gurukulam.com ) 

And from then on, there was no looking back. The Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College at Labour India Hills has grown to become a model educational institute, embracing traditional values even as we impart an international educational curriculum. 

Affiliations

Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam http://www.mguniversity.edu/  . LICTE is offering B.Ed with intake 50 student  Courses are affiliated to NCTE[ National Council for Teacher Education , A statutory Body of the Government of India] Southern Regional Committee, Bangalore. The syllabi at the College are as per the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The textbooks are those prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (N.C.E.R.T). ‘English’ is the medium of instruction.
