Activities

Overview

Aesthetic development is an essential aspect of a trainee’s learning experience. At Labour India college of Teacher Education, we provide many opportunities for trainees to explore their own creativity and learn to appreciate artistic expression in the visual arts, music, and drama.

Extra Curricular

Extracurricular activities at Labour India College of Teacher Education offer an important balance to academic work and a welcome chance for trainees to explore and cultivate personal interests.

The Co-curricular activities of the college have to lend valuable support to its curricular counterpart. This year we had to limit our activities to what have been possible within the limited time of the course and the talents of the limited number of students.

Study tours in Colleges of education are counted as an important extension of the curricular activities. Here we could conduct a three days excursion to Munnar, Mattupetty, Kodaikanal and Madurai/Goa. Except a few trainees who could not participate in the tour on medical reasons, everyone from the staff and students of the college joined the study tour. The cultural programmes held in the two vehicles added to the fun and thrill of the days.

Community Service

At Labour India College of Teacher Education, the ultimate goal is to prepare trainees for a life of active, responsible world citizenship. Therefore community service is a key part of the curriculum. Students engage in numerous and wide-ranging service endeavors from fundraising activities to environmental efforts to involvement with local and international service agencies. Through these efforts, students gain insight into the problems faced by lesser fortunate people, with the satisfaction of knowing they may have made a difference.
