History

History

What evolved from a dream to create a Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College back in the year 2004, has emerged to be one of the premier educational institutions in India on par international standards. 

Labour India Public School & Junior College was founded by Mr. V. J. George Kulangara on 4th June 1993 in Marangattupilly, Kottayam Dt, Kerala, South India. His Guru (Teacher), the late Prof. K. M. Chandy, former Governor of Madhya Pradesh, India, inaugurated the school. ( www.gurukulam.com ) 

And from then on, there was no looking back. The Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College at Labour India Hills has grown to become a model educational institute, embracing traditional values even as we impart an international educational curriculum. 

Milestones

In 1983, we started with a single magazine. We now publish 45 specialized educational journals in three different languages, ranging from the pre-primary level to Plus Two level and the entrance exams , avidly read by 1.6 million students, teachers and parents every month.  In 2003, Labour India Group initiated to set up an Indo-American Education Research Foundation in U.S.A . The Foundation envisages an Indian Village in its 160+ acre campus in Bluefield, West Virginia with facilities for K-12 Education, cultural interactions, yoga & meditation and tourism among others. In 2004, Labour India HRD Foundation Ltd. was set up to provide high quality education to Indian and International students. The company has set-up Labour India Indo American International Labour India School in Vagamon to provide quality K-12 education for Indian and Internaitonal students with an option to transfer to the Bluefield School, USA. Visit www.labourindiahrd.com

In 2005, Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College came into being, to provide teacher training courses and to build teachers (Gurus) who can make a significant difference in the education scenario in India. Affiliations

Labour India Educational Society Teachers Training College is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam http://www.mguniversity.edu/  . LICTE is offering B.Ed with intake 50 student  Courses are affiliated to NCTE[ National Council for Teacher Education , A statutory Body of the Government of India] Southern Regional Committee, Bangalore. The syllabi at the College are as per the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The textbooks are those prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (N.C.E.R.T). ‘English’ is the medium of instruction.
